Volvo XC Coupe Concept revealed

Volvo, the Swedish luxury carmaker has released some images of their new Concept XC Coupe, which is scheduled to make its public debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January 13th, 2014. The company announced to introduce three concept cars, out of which first was the Concept Coupe which was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. XC Coupe is the second concept designed by the Senior Vice President of Design, Thomas Ingenlath.

These concepts shows the capability of the company's new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA), which will underpin the upcoming Volvo cars including all medium and large cars. It is expected that the next generation XC90, which will debut by the end of next year, will feature the same platforms and design philosophy.

The mechanics of these cars are yet to be announced, but we expect that the company could use their new 4-cylinder engines to power these vehicles. According to some media reports the 2015 XC90 will also be made available in plug-in hybrid version, which will feature the 4-cylinder turbocharged engine combine with an electric motor to churn out 300bhp and 600Nm.

This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the same.
