Tata Nano, 'The least expensive car on the planet', is all set to spread happiness and joy among people. Tata Motors has announced that they would offer the Nano with power steering; getting rid of the heavy mechanical steering wheel which was quite intimidating. The new Nano would be termed as the 'Nano Twist' and it would be launched on January 15, 2014.
Nano holds a special place in Tata Motors arsenal and hence, Tata has gone all out to give this small car much more comfort and convenience through the introduction of a power steering. The power steering wheel has been developed by ZF and the Nano Twist consisting it, would cost approx Rs 15,000 more than the exisitng Nano variants. It can be said it is a superb step taken by Tata as the power steering wheel would definitely benefit users, especially women.
Tata Nano, in terms of sales figures, hasn't been tasting expected success as it has been selling an average 1600 units monthly. Tata Nano Twist might be the vehicle with which it can strike gold and turn its fortunes. However, currently Nano is offered in five variants across petrol and CNG fuel trims - Tata Nano STD, Tata Nano CX, Tata Nano LX, Tata Nano CNG CX, Tata Nano CNG LX. All these variants are mated to a 0.6-litre petrol engine which belts out a power output of 37.4bhp and a peak torque performance of 51Nm. They are coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission.
