Chevrolet confirms the introduction of its much anticipated supercar, 2015 Corvette Z06 at the Detroit Show. It will bound the best potentiality to race on track, and will deliver supercar levels of performance through powerful powertrain, unique chassis and aerodynamic features. With this the company aims to target recently unveiled Ford Mustang.
However, much has not been revealed, but the teaser image shows the carbon fiber side skirts, rear quarter vents and distinct alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres.
As far as engine details are concerned, there's no clear information, but it could come with a naturally aspirated 7-litre V8 engine that offers massive output of 600bhp. Moreover, the company has concrete plans to increase its sales via few recent introduction, and few to arrive by 2014. These performance cars are Chevrolet SS sedan, Corvette Stingray Convertible, 2014 Camaro Z/28 and 2015 Corvette Z06.
The Chevrolet SS sedan bounds 6.2-litre V8 engine that produces 415bhp, and is mated with six speed automatic transmission which allows to cross 0-100kmph mark in just 5 seconds. On the other hand, the Corvette Stingray Convertible is powered with LT1 engine that belts out 460bhp and 630Nm of peak torque. In terms of performance, this engine enables the vehicle to sprint from 0-100kmph in under 4 seconds.
