Honda has once again hit the bull's eye with the unveiling of the all new Honda City; a sedan that gave Honda new heights and much needed recognition in this segment. It is the fourth generation of this premium sedan comprising of immense exquisiteness and lavishness. For the first time, ever since its inception, it would be launched in diesel fuel trim along with the regular petrol models.
The deliveries of this highly anticipated sedan are supposed to commence by mid January 2014. Auto-freaks were curiously waiting for it, and when it finally arrived, there excitement and enthusiasm was on Cloud Nine.

Based on the new Jazz platform, the new Honda City shows the true artistry of Honda's 'Man Maximum and Machine Minimum' philosophy. The company has named the exterior concept as Sleek Crossmotion with the advanced aforementioned Honda's philosophy. It appears super sporty and its rear design distinguishes it from Honda Jazz. Furthermore, for the first time, people would witness an exciting 'H' design in the all new Honda City. Its extravagant coupe like design in combination with One Motion styling transforms it as show-stopper as far as looks are concerned.

The rear portion features a premium chrome strip with Honda's symbol at the center. This time around, Its quite larger, bigger and sharper as claimed by Honda itself that it is the widest car in the entire class. Honda has extended the wheelbase by 50mm, thereby enabling a much spacious interior cabin.

Honda has come up with the most spacious cabin with ample legroom, headroom and shoulder room. It has assembled almost every comfort feature inside the cabin to maintain the plushness and aristocracy, that it is known for. The 2014 City will have LCD infotainment system with eight speakers for music lovers and four charging points for the convenience of almost every occupant. Additionally, it also gets features such as reverse parking camera, sunroof, cruise control, touch panel for air-con etc. which can turn any individual upside down.

Honda has strike the right chord by the enlargement of interior space, despite the length being exactly similar to the previous generation City. There is also an information cluster to display more informations. Three-spoke power steering wheel with audio and other controls mounted on it is like icing on the cake. Rear A/C vent is a real bonus as its gives much more convenience to the rear seat passengers. In all, the interior cabin of 2014 Honda City is crafted quite exquisitely and no stone has been left unturned to make it a one-of-its-type.
Honda has countered the scenarios of constant increase in petrol prices as well as the inclination of people towards diesel cars quite efficiently by launching the fourth generation Honda City in diesel fuel trim as well. It is the first time that Honda City would be available with diesel fuel trim, sporting a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel mill. This powertrain is also performing duties to Honda's another entry-level sedan, Amaze. Apparently, Honda officials have also announced that the new City would have best in class fuel economy. In addition to this, its reduced weight would also contribute to better mileage.

Honda is continuing this sedan in petrol fuel trim with the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. This petrol mill, too, is quite fuel efficient and when it was first introduced with the first generation Honda City, it won numerous hearts with its agility and tenacity on any surface. Honda has never compromised on driveability of its vehicles; same is the instance with City as it provides exceptional driving experience with lightening fast acceleration and amazing handling. This is the main factor contributing to Honda's golden run in the Indian automotive market.
The all new Honda City 2014 will take the Indian auto sector by storm; no matter it will be lined up against the likes of Hyundai Verna, Fiat Linea, Ford Fiesta, Maruti SX4, Volkwagen Vento and Skoda Rapid. It will definitely get benefit of the goodwill and legacy that it gave birth to, among people, while it was firstly launched in India way back in 1998. However, the battle will certainly be tough as the other sedans also are no flukes. Hence, it would be interesting to watch whether Honda tastes the same success this time around also, which it tasted years back when it launched the third generation of Honda City in the Indian auto arena.
