Honda that unveiled the Vezel compact SUV at the recently concluded Tokyo Motor Show, is all set to launch the vehicle on the 20th of December in the Japanese market. Ahead of its launch, a brochure scan has leaked Mugen variant of the SUV on the web.
Vezel is basically a production version of Honda's Urban SUV Concept, which was first unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show in January. The vehicle will go on sale in Japan this week, and will be launched in several international markets. It will also make its way to the Indian car market by the end of 2014 or by early 2015.
While the standard version will go on sale on December 20, the Mugen package is expected to be made available by the early next year. The sporty Mugen variant of Vezel features the grey accents in the chin spoiler, front radiator slat, roof spoiler, rear apron, alloys, exhaust pipes and side skirts. This variant sits lower to the ground and features some interesting elements to make it look aggressive.
Based on the 4WD version, the Mugen variant is powered by a direct-injection 1.5-litre gasoline engine which can also be fitted with a hybrid setup with a high-output motor and a SPORT HYBRID i-DCD- Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive.
The exact specifications of the Vezel is yet to be announced, but according to media reports the compact crossover SUV has a three month waiting period already.
