2013 has not been a good year for car manufacturers, as passenger cars sales reported a negative growth. Amidst, carmakers sees huge potential in the Indian car market and are ready to explore the growing industry by launching several new products. 2014 will see several new vehicles including SUVs, sedans, hatchbacks and MPVs. Buyers in the country consider sedans to be the perfect family car, which offers enough space to seat five adults and boot to carry decent volume. To make things easier, we cover a list of sedan cars to be launched in India in 2014.
Fiat Linea Facelift
Fiat India has recently launched the 'Classic' sedan in the Indian car market, which opens a gate to bring in the facelifted version of the company's flagship sedan Linea. It is expected that the company will introduce the vehicle at the next year's Indian Auto Expo, alongside Jeep brand and Abarth Punto. Exteriors of the sedan will get lots of chrome, while the rear number plate will be placed at the bootlid to offer more contemporary look. Inside the cabin, Linea will get the revamped and more upmarket dashboard and centre console. The vehicle will also feature the company's bigger 1.6-litre Multijet diesel engine that develops 103.5bhp.
Ford Fiesta Facelift
Fiesta has been the most applauded sedans in India and is known for its styling and excellent fuel economy. With the increase in competition, the sales of this sedan has dropped and the company is planning to introduce the facelift version of the Fiesta in India to regain the lost market share. The vehicle is expected to be launched by the second half of 2014. The front facade of the car seems to be inspired from Aston Martin, while the rear end also gets some updates to make it look more modern.
The interiors of the car also expected to receive some subtle changes. Mechanically, the car is expected to remain the same.
