VW Passat Bluemotion Concept to be premiered at Detroit Motor Show

The German auto giant, Volkswagen has come up with most fuel efficient sedan in its model lineup, which will be premiered at the North American International Auto Show. With the VW Passat Bluemotion Concept, the company believes to show that even the non-hybrid gasoline engines can be tunned to offer low fuel consumption, particularly when fitted over mid-size sedan. Under the hood, this model features 1.4-liter EA211 TSI engine with direct injection and turbocharging. Moreover, the sedan gets Active Cylinder Management (ACT) technology, which was earlier observed with VW Polo and Golf models. The engine delivers an impressive fuel economy of 17.8kmpl, and in particular is the world's first inline four cylinder with cylinder deactivation.

The VW Passat Bluemotion Concept gets another innovative feature called coasting function that assist in delivering better efficiency. Apart from this, there's DSG transmission which enables the sedan to drive over lowest possible mechanical drag, and also the start/stop function makes it generate such high fuel economy. But the most important factor is that it even offers amazing driving experience with power output of 150bhp and 249Nm.

To its exteriors, the striking metallic Blue color looks attractive. The global debut of the model will certainly be a good watch. Inside the car, the two-tone seats with leather seating simply lifts up the ambience of the sedan.
