All New Honda City Launched at Rs. 7.42 Lakh

Finally, the wait is over as Honda Car India has launched the imperious sedan 2014 Honda City for the Indian buyers. This fourth generation Honda City was unveiled on November 25, 2013 and when it was announed that it is coming in diesel fuel trim for the first time ever, believe it ot not, heaps of advance bookings piled up. Honda has launched the all new city with a total of five variants - E, S, V, SV and VX in both the diesel as well as the petrol fuel trim. It has placed the sedan in a price bracket of Rs. 7.42 - 11.10 Lakhs.


As everyone is evident of the fact, 2014 City created a rage in India during its unveiling when it was propounded that it delivers a fuel efficiency of 26kmpl with diesel fuel trim, thus making it India's most fuel efficient car. It is built on company's existing vehicle Honda Fit aka Jazz's platform and has been indulged with almost every top-notch comfort and safety feature to entice as many as car lovers.

Various impeccable safety features such as ABS, EBD and a driver airbag are offered as primary features with every variant. Honda has left no stone unturned to make an individual feel comfortable inside the cabin as it has incorporated features like Smart Key, Pinch Guard, Cruise Control, Rear parking Camera along with In-built Music System with USB, AUX, FM, CD, and MP3, Blue tooth, 5" Monitor, 8 Speakers. Additionally, sophsticated features like touch panel for AC, Push Button start and Sunroof further grace this sedan with their presence.

All New Honda City petrol is being offered with 1.5-litre i-VTEC mill which develops a decent power output of 117 bhp at 6600 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4600 rpm. It is being presented with two transmission options, either a CVT automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual transmission. The top-end variants SV and VX get automatic transmission while the remaining three variants - E, S, and V, comprise of 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, 2014 City diesel is being offered with a 1.5-litre i-DTEC powertrain, which has garnered quite an appreciation, owing to its impeccable performance with company's pre-exisitng sedan, Amaze. It has the ability to generate maximum power output of 98.6 bhp at 3600 rpm and a maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. The diesel variants would be coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission in order to maximize performance without hampering the fuel economy. It would be great to see how it fares against the like of Hyundai Verna Fluidic and Volkswagen Vento, seeing the current status of advance bookings.
