Since the launch of the Ford Ecosport last year, the company has been increasing its prices consistently. It had launched the SUV at the starting price of Rs. 5.59 lakh for the base petrol, while the feature rich Diesel Titanium (O) was priced at Rs. 8.99 lakh. However, these prices were available only for the few initial customers, after then the prices have been simply rising.
Earlier, the Ford went on increasing the prices in the month of September'13, and for the second time it hiked the prices across all variants. It seems like there's was no option left for the company except to soar the prices in order to sustain the market blues.
In the month of September 2013, the top end diesel variant costs Rs. 9.37 lakh, while the same model is now priced at Rs. 9.74 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). And the base variant now comes at the price of Rs. 6.19 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This makes a sharp rise by Rs. 75000 in less than six moths of the duration.
