One week, four car launches. Several more to come

The first week of January has been exciting as we witnessed the launch of four new cars. The week began with the launch of the Audi RS7, Jaguar XF 2.0-litre petrol and then the Honda City and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class followed it. The RS7 is the fastest Audi that is available in India as it produces 560bhp of power. This is more powerful than the Audi R8 as well.

Then came the new 2.0-litre turbo petrol XF, which produces power in excess of 200bhp and has four-cylinders. This is one of the new powerful, yet fuel-efficient engines from Jaguar Land rover stable. It was already available on the Evoque, now it comes as a petrol engine even in the XF.

The other launch for this year, has been the new generation Honda City. This is the most fuel-efficient diesel car as per the ARAI cycle as the diesel returns about 26km/l. The other big launch for this year has been the new S-Class. Mercedes-Benz has always raised the bar of innovation and luxury with the S-Class and this generation continues to do the same.
All New Honda City Launched at Rs. 7.42 Lakh

Finally, the wait is over as Honda Car India has launched the imperious sedan 2014 Honda City for the Indian buyers. This fourth generation Honda City was unveiled on November 25, 2013 and when it was announed that it is coming in diesel fuel trim for the first time ever, believe it ot not, heaps of advance bookings piled up. Honda has launched the all new city with a total of five variants - E, S, V, SV and VX in both the diesel as well as the petrol fuel trim. It has placed the sedan in a price bracket of Rs. 7.42 - 11.10 Lakhs.
Audi launches performance edition RS7 in India

Audi has finally launched the performance edition RS7 of its Sportsback A7 in India. It is purely a performance oriented version and it comes with lightening fast acceleration, as reflecting quite clearly by the name. Audi has launched it with a price of Rs. 1.29 Crore (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai).
Mercedes-Benz India to assemble S-Class in India from April 2014

Mercedes-Benz India that launched the S-Class premium saloon in India recently, is all set to assemble the car at its Pune manufacturing unit from April, 2014. Moreover, the German luxury carmaker is also planning to launch a couple of new models in the country in order to regain its top position in the luxury car segment.
Confirmed: BMW i8 India debut at 2014 Indian Auto Expo

BMW India has started teasing its petrol-electric hybrid i8 as speculations are rife that it is going to be unveiled at the coming 2014 Indian Auto Expo. It has released some images of it on its official facebook page and recently, it even released a teaser video of it, putting all speculations to an end and confirming its India launch at the Delhi Motor Show.
Tata Motors to upgrade its range and introduce more petrol engines

Tata Motors has been working hard and developing and working to introduce several new technologies for the upcoming products. There are several of these advancements that could be utilised in its current range of vehicles too. That is what the brand is doing, as it will revive its entire range of petrol offerings.
New Nissan Sunny Facelift coming at 2014 Auto Expo

Launched back in 2011, Nissan Sunny has been in the market for over two years and it now requires a makeover to sustain in the growing mid-sized sedan segment. Keeping this in mind, the Japanese carmaker is all set to launch the facelifted Sunny in the country. Fiat Punto Adventure crossover spied , India launch by mid-2014

We were the first to inform you that Fiat will introduce the Punto Adventure, which is the crossover version of the Punto hatchback in India by the mid of 2014. It is expected to be unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, where Toyota will also present its Etios Cross. For the first time, the answer to the likes of Polo Cross and Etios Cross has been spotted.
All-new Honda City bagged 9000 pre-bookings

With just a single day passed by its launch, the all-new Honda City is soaring high with already 9000 pre-bookings in its account, and is constantly registering more to it. Finally, the diesel version of City arrives with 1.5-liter i-DTEC engine generating 98bhp of top power, aimed to cater the high demands of the market. The maximum bookings of the diesel model has come from 2 tier and 3 tier cities. The company has already started the deliveries for the diesel variants; while for the petrol ones, it is slated to begin by mid-February. The arrival of all-new City is considered to be one of the most significant launching with respect to the current status of Indian auto industry. Also, It has been the most awaited one out of every new car coming this year.
Toyota Etios Cross to come India, to debut at Auto Expo

It seems like carmakers are going the Volkswagen path in which they will launch a crossover version of their hatchback models. We reported earlier that Fiat is planning to launch the Punto Adventure, which will be the crossover version of its flagship hatchback Punto. Like the Cross Polo, Toyota India is also considering the Etios Cross, based on the Liva hatchback. This model has already been unveiled in Brazil and it will be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo.
Parx Super Car Rally in Mumbai on the 12th of January

Jaguar XF 2.0-litre petrol launched for Rs 48.3 lakhs

Jaguar is once again broadening its product line-up and is offering for the first time, a 2.0-litre petrol variant in the multi award winning Jaguar XF in India.  This is a four-cylinder turbo engine that produces 237bhp of power and 340Nm of peak torque and it comes mated to an eight-speed ZF self-shifting transmission.  This is the same engine that also powers the petrol version of the three-door Evoque.
