2014 Bentley Mulsanne Unveiled


Bentley is introducing a range of new luxury features to its flagship model, the Mulsanne, which make their debut at the Geneva International Salon d’Auto in March, with customer orders commencing in April. A new Comfort Specification, including comfort headrests, footrests and duck down filled loose cushions has also been introduced to reaffirm Mulsanne’s reputation as a truly bespoke grand tourer.

Additional enhancements include privacy curtains, which promise to broaden the experience for the Mulsanne rear cabin occupants, allowing them to maximise work or rest as they travel. An Entertainment Specification incorporates the latest in technological developments, with picnic tables designed for an iPad and wireless keyboard, with the cabin of the Mulsanne becoming a Wi-Fi Hotspot. Other additions include three new paint options, extending the Mulsanne palette, and new bespoke fitted luggage.


Commenting on the new range of options for the Mulsanne, Member of the Board for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales Mr Kevin Rose, said: “The new features of the Mulsanne blend striking design with the latest in technology integration, enabling our pinnacle model to offer the grandest of touring experiences. Hyundai i10 and i20 Black Pack Editions launched in Netherlands


In our last story we brought you the information on the 2014 version of the Hyundai i10, which will replace the existing generation, now we have learned that the Korean auto maker has launched the special black pack editions of its flagship hatches the i10 and the i20 in the Netherlands. So, this could possibly be the last update for the existing i10.

BMW and Toyota to Develop midsize Sports Car Together


German Luxury car maker, BMW will work with the Japanese auto major Toyota Motor to manufacture a midsize sports car, which will help the giants to limit development costs. Partnership between BMW and Toyota that began in the year 2011 will now work together on next generation batteries 'lithium-air' for green vehicles, fuel-cell systems and light weight material, the company informs. However, there will not be any capital alliance between the two.

The giants aim to complete a fuel-cell vehicle system by 2020, while the mid-size sports car concept will come by the end of this year. The company has also disclosed their plans of developing lightweight technologies like composites, which will help make cars greener. The lithium-air battery will be more powerful than the existing lithium-ion batteries currently used in electric vehicles. The company says that the technology on which the company is working on will allow a major part of the battery's energy-making process to derive from the oxygen in air.

BMW AG board member Herbert Diess told reporters that the cooperation will help both companies enhance their competitiveness in new technologies. Toyota's Vice Chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada too said that working with BMW will help the company in much faster development. He further said that both the companies share a corporate culture and now they have been successful building trust over the last year. They signed an agreement to work together on technologies in June 2012.

"In light of the technological changes ahead, the entire automotive industry faces tremendous challenges, which we also regard as an opportunity," BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer said in today's statement. "This collaboration is an important building block in keeping both companies on a successful course in the future."

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster Launched in India


The Italian luxury sports car manufacturer, Lamborghini that launched the all new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster in the global markets, has today launched it in India at Rs 4.77 Crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it one of the most expensive supercars sold in India today. Lamborghini that already sells the Aventador coupe in India, has now positioned the roadster right above that. BMW owned British automotive marque, MINI has now revealed the MINI Clubman Bond Street ahead of its public debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The Clubman Bond Street has taken its inspiration and the name from the popular shopping street in London. MINI had already built and sold Camden, Bayswater and Baker street special editions in the past, which too were named on the other famous streets of London.

The MINI Clubman Bond Street has been revealed ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The Clubman Bond Street takes its name from the famous shopping street in London, and follows similar specials-edition models like the MINI Camden, Bayswater and Baker Street that have been sold in the past.

Due to premiere at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the MINI Clubman Bond Street fuses the inherent practicality and superb driving dynamics of the Clubman, with a unique interior and exterior interpretation that reflects the style of this most upmarket of London addresses. Production will begin in March 2013, and like many of the goods retailed in the street that bears the same name, such exclusivity will only be available for a strictly limited period: the MINI Clubman Bond Street will be on sale for a limited time only.

Maruti Suzuki India Working on Small Hybrid (Petrol+electric) Car


India's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India is now working on its first small hybrid car, which will have both electric and petrol options. The information has been disclosed by two senior officers of the company while speaking to CNBC- TV 18, the said small car is being co-developed by Suzuki Japan's engineers together.

The officers have further said that the project is in the initial stage, so they aren't sure about time of the launch, however they made it clear that the company is serious about launching such a vehicle in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki India that doesn't have any electric vehicle in India, now believes that the hybrid vehicles are surely the future of automotive world.
The company hasn't still disclosed the vehicle on which they are working to bring in the hybrid, we expect it to be an economical car, as they have always been praised for producing cars for masses rather than classes.

New Audi RS7 Unveiled


German luxury car maker has a lot to show at the 2013 North American International Automobile Show, the company has put a total three vehicles at its display- 2014 Audi R8, Audi RS5 Cabriolet and the all new RS 7 Sportback. Audi RS 7 Sportback will be launched in the UK in the latter part of 2013 and to compete against the recently unveiled BMW M6 Gran-Coupe.

The all new RS7 Sportback houses the similar 4.0-litre, V8 biturbo petrol engine with cylinder-on-demand technology that does its duty to the brand new RS6 Avant, unveiled recently. It churns out the maximum of 552bhp at 5700rpm with the top speed of 205kmph, and the best part with this engine is its competency to increase the speed on demand to 280kmph or 304kmph.

It also employs advanced cylinder-on-demand technology to ensure that economy holds true to Audi efficiency ambitions, with up to 10.20kmpl possible despite the ferocious pace. Available to order in the summer of 2013 priced in the region of £84,000 OTR, and due in the UK towards the end of the year, the RS 7 Sportback shares its 4.0-litre V8 TFSI engine with the recently announced RS 6 Avant.

This means that with the help of its two turbochargers formidable peak power of 552bhp arrives between 5,700 and 6,700rpm, and peak torque of 700Nm is constantly available between 1,750 and 5,500rpm. The two large twin-scroll turbochargers located, along with the intercooler, inside the ‘V’ of the cylinder banks, produce up to 1.2 bar of boost pressure, helping to generate incredible accelerative force.





The RS-specific engine management and unthrottled intake system also contribute to the engine’s dramatic response, and this is delivered with all the charisma expected of a V8. Switchable flaps in the exhaust system can make the sound even fuller at the touch of a button, and customers seeking an even more dramatic drive can choose a sports exhaust system from the options list.

'New Honda CR-V Coming Soon'


Honda Cars India which has discontinued the old CR-V, is now all set to launch the next-generation CR-V in India, and they will not take so much time now to finally bring it here, as per their official website. They have put up an image of the car on their official website, which says that "The all new Honda CR-V, coming soon..." And like CarDekho reported you a couple of days back that the new CR-V will be priced lesser than its earlier version, as it will now come as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) and then assembled in India, earlier it used to come as CBU (Completely Built Unit).

The 2013 Honda CR-V will come with two petrol engine options- a 2.0-litre and a 2.4-litre mill, however 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine would still not make it to India, which is sold in Europe currently. We are expecting the facelift version to come by February or March2013 in a five-seater version to compete against the likes of BMW X1, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Outlander and others.

The 2013 Honda CR-V has unquestionably got better in features than its predecessor. It now gets shorter and lesser in length, has more assertive and aerodynamic stance with a bolder nose section and horizontal three-bar grille and deep-set headlights at the front. So on the whole, the car has become more compact, aggressive and stylish, something that the world demands today.

Mclaren GT confirms details of enhanced 12C GT3


As was confirmed at the close of last year, McLaren GT will produce further examples of the 12C GT3 available to compete in the 2013 season. These new models are eligible for all GT3 championships and, for the first time, see the 12C GT3 available for global competition.

The 2012 season saw the 12C GT3 take part in 98 separate race events, and this was converted into 19 victories and a further 19 podium finishes for the 13 McLaren GT customer teams – a remarkable achievement for the car making its competitive debut. During the season, the 12C GT3 was only made available to European-based GT teams and, aside from a handful of standalone race events in Abu Dhabi, Azerbaijan and Macau, raced in championships across Europe. The 12C GT3 is now available to all GT teams globally and, for the first time, also collectors and non-race users.

The 12C GT3 will continue to be raced by all active GT teams who competed in 2012. In addition to this, several new teams have now taken delivery of the 2013 model year 12C GT3 and are confirmed for the forthcoming season. Clearwater Racing join McLaren GT as a customer team and, as reigning back-to-back champions in the Asia GT Championship, the striking chrome, red and green livery of the 12C GT3 will wear the number 1. In addition to this, nine-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb has confirmed he will contest the FIA GT Series, and his team Sébastien Loeb Racing will run two examples of the 12C GT3. Loeb will be joined in the cockpit by McLaren GT factory driver Alvaro Parente for the six-date season.
The 2013-specification 12C GT3 features a number of changes, all of which are available as a package to existing car owners, and which are designed to offer enhanced drivability, reliability and efficiency, coupled with reduced complexity. The changes include a revised aerodynamics package, an upgraded ECU with a revised electrical system and alternative dampers. The 2013 12C GT3 also benefits from an updated cooling system designed to optimise performance of the car in the more varied conditions found in global championships. These enhancements are evident through the updated bonnet and ducting, designed to ensure that the 12C GT3 can run competitively in higher temperatures than those experienced during 2012. The revised aerodynamic package will further improve the balance and tyre management of the 12C GT3.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift to be launched around festive season


Earlier we had reported that Mercedes-Benz could introduce the E-Class facelift by sometime around July. Now, it seems that the Chakan-based manufacturer might have delayed the plan of getting the facelift to sometime around the festive season.

Previously, the E-Class was also launched a bit before the festive season in 2009. The facelift will on sale in the European markets in April. The front has been completely redesigned and features new headlamps comprise of all functional elements in a single headlamp lens. In addition, for the first time, the E-Class is available with two different front-end designs – the classic, three-dimensional Saloon grille and star on the bonnet, or the sports car radiator.
A new feature line and a repositioned three-dimensional trim strip give both the Saloon and Estate models new, visually exciting proportions. The feature line runs below the structure line from the rear door through to the tail light. Visually this benefits the vehicle in terms of length. Overall the E-Class looks more elongated and elegant, yet at the same time dynamic. Mercedes-Benz has also revised the interior of the new E-Class, and harmonised it with the expressive exterior.

Nissan Resonance Wins Best Concept Vehicle Award




Japanese automaker Nissan that unveiled the Nissan Resonance SUV concept at the 2013 NAIAS, has now been selected as winner of the EyesOn Design award for Best Concept Vehicle. The announcement was made at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2013 EyesOn Design Awards ceremony held Tuesday evening, January 15.

One of the premier awards in transportation design, the EyesOn Design Awards honors the best production and concept cars making their North American or worldwide debut at NAIAS. In their seventh year, the awards recognize the skill and creativity of today's most gifted designers in the areas of aesthetics and innovation; concept implementation; and functionality and spirit of industrial design. Winners are selected by a panel of active and retired design heads of automotive companies, transportation design chairs from top art schools, and designers from other fields.


The Resonance concept was created under the guidance of Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and chief creative officer of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and features an open, airy architecture highlighted by a unique "floating" roof created through the use of the thin, steeply raked A-pillars, large full-length glass panel and flowing D-pillar design. Inside, the designers imagined what the future of first-class space travel might be: Welcoming yet exclusive and high-tech yet premium. The resulting "VIP lounge," with its light, buttery leather and premium-stitched seats, exudes genuine sophistication.

The all-wheel drive Resonance concept also features an efficient, hybrid-electric drivetrain that includes Nissan's proprietary "one-motor, two-clutch" system, which combines a smaller displacement internal combustion gasoline engine with an electric motor, lithium-ion battery and advanced management system.

Suzuki Ertiga Facelift Launched in Indonesia


India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India that launched its first ever MPV, the Ertiga in India back in April 2012 is already a huge in the country. Other than the Indian market, Suzuki also launched the Ertiga in Indonesia, where the success story is no different, the car has been doing superb in terms of sales there too. But a couple of days back, the Indonesia Ertiga has received a facelift even before completing an year since launch.


However the changes are minimum and in fact some of the changes received by the Indonesian Ertiga are already there on the Indian version like the AC vents for the middle and last rows. Other than receiving the 'AC Double Blower' aka AC Vents the car has also gone through chrome detailing on the grille. The car has received new Chrome front grille, helping it look more modern.

Since the changes are very minor and India already has an advanced Ertiga, we can only expect the chrome treatment on the grille of Ertiga, when it's ready for the mid-life facelift in India.

Jeep Compact SUV to Bring Competition to Duster and EcoSport



The iconic SUV maker Jeep's Indian subsidiary has already disclosed its Indian plans, the company is planning to make the Indian debut with the popular Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee models. The company which has earlier revealed its plans of launching a B-Segment and a c-segment Compact SUVs in India, now further discloses that the said vehicles will be manufactured in India and then will be exported to several international markets.

Moreover, India will be the first market to receive the 2014 Jeep B-Segment SUV, which is expected to be priced around Rs 10-12 lakh and to compete against the likes of Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra Quanto. The B-segment SUV from the Jeep will house a 1.4-litre petrol and fiat's 1.6-litre multijet diesel engine.

The above mentioned Jeep's C-Segment SUV too will be a made in India product and to be priced around Rs 14-15 lakh, which will make it a close competitor of Mahindra & Mahindra's popular SUV XUV500 in India. Speaking on the same, Enrico Atanasio said, “The B-segment SUV will be totally new and India will be a pilot market before we take it worldwide. In terms of size, it will be similar to the Renault Duster or Ford Ecosport. Over the next quarter, there will be massive market research in India,” Atanasio said.


The Indian market which has already seen the Renault Duster and Quanto's success, is soon going to get the Ford EcoSport and then will arrive Jeep aforementioned compact SUVs. Considering these factors, it will be interesting to see what Jeep brings to the Indian automotive scene.

Rolls Royce Wraith- Company's 'Most Powerful' Car Confirmed to Launch


German Auto major BMW's super luxury car brand, Rolls-Royce has yesterday confirmed the launch of its next model, Rolls-Royce Wraith, which according to the company is the “most dynamic and powerful” vehicle in the history of RR.  The car will be presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show on 5 March 2013, with first deliveries to customers expected in the fourth quarter of 2013. Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, confirmed the news at the company’s World Dealer Conference in London yesterday.

“Rolls-Royce Wraith will draw superlatives when it is unveiled in Geneva,” he explained to representatives of the 100-strong global dealer network. “Expect the boldest design, the most dramatic performance and the most powerful Rolls-Royce that has ever played host to the famous Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. We will present a model whose starting point is luxury, refinement and exclusivity, traits that have made Rolls-Royce the world’s pinnacle luxury good for the last 108 years. This is a car not only defined by a timeless elegance, but one that encapsulates a sense of power, style and drama,” added Müller-Ötvös.

Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis Concept Wins Best 'Concept Award ', Defeats BMW 4-Series


North Korean Automaker Hyundai that displayed its first ever luxury saloon, Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis Concept at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detorit has been awarded as the "Best Concept" in 2013 NAIAS Editors' Choice Awards, voted by Autoweek Editors. HCD-14 beat out the BMW 4-series and Ford Atlas in the Autoweek voting process.

“The HCD-14, the latest in Hyundai's long line of conceptual offerings, could eventually become the next Genesis sedan in production guise – and that would take the Korean automaker to yet another level of sophistication in styling as well as technological prowess,” said Autoweek editors.

“You look at this elegant sedan and say, 'That's a Hyundai?' This is a gorgeous concept car,” adds Davey G. Johnson, senior online editor, Autoweek.

HCD-14 Genesis features state-of-the-art driver eye-tracking and hand-gesture recognition, thumb controls or gesture recognition used to select navigation, infotainment, audio, HVAC, and smartphone connectivity functions. A windshield heads-up display (HUD) provides minimal driving distraction and the concept’s powertrain features Hyundai Tau® V8 engine with direct injection and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT).

Mercedes-Benz Unveils More Powerful E 63 AMG


Mercedes-Benz which is all set to bring the entirely new series of its famous E-Class at this year's Detorit Motor Show, already unveiled the E-Class sedan, wagon, convertible and coupe, today unveiled the new E63 AMG Performance sedan as well on internet. The new E 63 AMG is now available as a particularly powerful S-Model with an output of 585 hp and 800 Nm of torque.


The launch of the new, customised model variants will offer Mercedes-AMG customers greater scope for individuality than ever before. The new E 63 AMG presents a more powerful character and a more dynamic appearance than all its predecessors: the new AMG design philosophy is immediately apparent at first glance, with the new "twin blade" radiator grille and the new "A-wing" in the AMG front apron defining the exclusive look. As previously, the top AMG model is available as a Saloon and Estate. The E 63 AMG's appeal is also boosted by substantially enhanced value for money: customers now receive more performance, improved driving dynamics and a broader scope of standard equipment and appointments.

Acceleration to 62 mph from a standing start in 3.6 seconds provides the E 63 AMG S-Model with a comfortable lead over the entire competition; the top speed stands at 155 mph (electronically limited). On the new S-Model the AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine generates a maximum output of 585 hp and maximum torque of 800 Nm – representing an increase of 28 hp over the AMG Performance package which was previously available as an option. This enhanced performance and power results from adaptation of the engine application, an increase in peak pressure and a rise in the charge pressure from 0.9 to 1.0 bar. At 557 hp and 720 Nm, the basic model also boasts an increase of 32 hp and 20 Nm over its predecessor.


Despite added power and enhanced performance, all models of the E 63 AMG offer high efficiency, low fuel consumption and low exhaust emissions. The AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine remains the most efficient series production V8 engine around – with substantially more cubic capacity than its direct competitors. The E 63 AMG rated at 557 hp with rear-wheel drive runs on 28.8 mpg in accordance with NEDC (230 grams of CO2). As an additional gain, following the implementation of internal engine measures, all E 63 AMGs meet the requirements of the stringent Euro 6 emissions standard which will not enter into force until 2015.

New Limited Edition Range Rover Evoque


The Range Rover Evoque is gearing up for spring with the Sicilian Yellow Limited Edition model which made its debut at the Brussels Motor Show on 10 January. Based on the 2013 Evoque Dynamic derivative, the Limited Edition sports a number of unique features. Orders are being taken now with deliveries beginning in May in Europe.


The Range Rover Evoque has asserted itself as Land Rover’s most desirable model, selling in excess of 100,000 vehicles in its first full year with sales continuing to show rapid growth worldwide. The new Sicilian Yellow Limited Edition offers customers highly desirable styling features, which will build on the Evoque’s success and reinforce its global appeal.


Available in coupé and 5-door, customers can choose from two exterior colour schemes, each one unique to the Limited Edition model and based on a new Black Design Pack. Choices include a Sicilian Yellow exterior body finish with a Santorini Black contrast roof, or a Santorini Black exterior body finish with a Sicilian Yellow contrast roof and door mirrors. Unique interior finishes include yellow contrast stitching on seats, central storage area, door trims and fascia mid-section, plus an anodised yellow horizontal finisher.


This limited edition model debuts the Black Design Pack, which will be available independently of the Limited Edition from April 2013. The Black Design Pack will be available exclusively on Dynamic models and includes rear sport spoiler, darkened front headlights and fog lamps, black Range Rover lettering, clear rear lamps, 20-inch Gloss Black forged wheels, Santorini Black painted bumper sections and dark exhaust finishers.
